Financial Information

2018/19

The Future Skills Centre is committed to transparency and accountability, including publishing our annual audited financial reports on our website, to ensure they are available to all Canadians.

We recently completed an audit for the 2018/19 fiscal year and are pleased to report that KPMG – an independent auditor – has confirmed that the Centre’s financial controls and systems are in place, and that our budget is in line with our contractual obligations with the Government of Canada.

This audit covers the period of November 19, 2018 (when the contract was first signed) to March 31, 2019 (the end of the fiscal year). The Centre formally launched on February 14, 2019.

We are proud that the Centre is off to a great start. In only a few months, we have:

  • Launched two open calls for proposals, including the most recent call with a $36M budget over two years;
  • Allocated $19 million dollars over two years for 16 action-based research projects across the country;
  • Engaged with hundreds of stakeholders – from community-based organizations, to industry leaders, to provinces and territories;
  • Established a permanent office and hired ten staff, including our incoming Executive Director;
  • Developed and posted on our website our research plan and evaluation framework; and,
  • Launched an interim Advisory Board and the open search for our inaugural Advisory Board.
